System action

Programmer response

If the user-supplied data set expiration date has not been reached, you can use the PURGE parameter on the DELETE or HDELETE command to delete the data set. If you want to find out the expiration date, an authorized DFSMShsm storage administrator can use the FIXCDS command to display the MCDEXPDT field.

If the JES3 setup expiration date has not been reached, an authorized DFSMShsm storage administrator can use the FIXCDS command with the PATCH parameter to change the expiration date to a date in the past. Then a delete request will be successful.
