Explanation

An I/O error was encountered while the VTOC was accessed for authorization checking.

System action

Processing continues, depending on the response from the operator. A reply of T ends the function with a return code of 8.

Operator response

If the user has authorization to access the volume, reply R zz,U to continue the function. Otherwise, reply R zz,T to end the function.

Programmer response

Instruct the operator to let DFSMSdss continue processing, and rerun the job.
