DEFRAG is unable to determine the location of free space extents on the volume being processed. The probable cause is that DEFRAG failed to find one or more free space entries in the VTOC. The free space entries are either missing or reside beyond the range of used entries in the VTOC.

Determine if any free space entries are missing or reside beyond the range of used entries in the VTOC. If so, correct the problem and rerun DEFRAG. If appropriate free space entries exist and are within the range of used entries in the VTOC, search problem reporting databases for a fix for the problem. If no fix exists, contact the IBM® Support Center.
