ADR205I
(ttt)-mmmmm(yy), EXTENT nnn OF DATA SET dsname IS ALLOCATED BY CYLINDER, BUT IT IS NOT ON A CYLINDER BOUNDARY

Explanation

The VTOC entry indicates that the data set is either allocated by cylinder or has the round attribute. However, the extent does not begin or end on a cylinder boundary.

System action

DEFRAG attempts to relocate the extent so that it begins and ends on a cylinder boundary. If DEFRAG is successful, the VTOC entry remains unchanged. If DEFRAG is unsuccessful, the extent is relocated as though it were originally allocated by tracks, and the VTOC entry is updated accordingly.

If this message is issued because the round bit is set, the round bit is not turned off. In either case, the message can be received on subsequent DEFRAG operations for the same data set.
