command FAILED - A MULTI-TARGET OPERATION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED, RSN= XX

Explanation

The command command could not be completed as a multi-target operation. The command failed with reason xx. Reason xx may be one of the following:
01
Establish Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy Pair is establishing a Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy multi-target relationship and the Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy multi-target microcode EC is not active on all CECs of the primary control unit.
02
Establish Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy Pair is establishing a Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy multi-target relationship and one or more of the secondary control units do not have the microcode EC active that supports Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy multi-target.
03
An Establish Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy Pair command would have resulted in a Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy primary with more active secondary relationships than are supported by the installed microcode.
04
An Establish Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy Pair command during recovery steps (for example, FAILOVER) would have resulted in a Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy primary with more secondary relationships than are supported by the microcode during recovery.
05
The addressed device was a secondary of a Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy multi-target relationship and the Remote Copy multi-target relationship.
0A
The addressed device is the primary of a Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy multi-target relationship and a cascaded Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy device. The Establish command issued specified ACTION(FAILOVER), which is not supported in a multi-target configuration.
0D
The Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy multi-target internal R\relationship between the partner secondaries cannot be created because more than 16 LSS associations have been established for the partner secondary volume executing the command.
0E
The Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy multi-target internal relationship between the partner secondaries cannot be created because more than 4 volume relationships are associated with the volume executing the command.
0F
The Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy multi-target internal R\relationship cannot be created because out-of-sync track bitmap (OOS) bitmaps are not available.

System action

Command processing ends.

System programmer response

Take an action based on the reason code:
01
Ensure that the Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy multi-target microcode is installed and active on all CECs of the primary control unit.
02
Ensure that the microcode EC that supports Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy multi-target is properly installed and active on all of the secondary control units.
03
Issue a Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy query command and remove any extra relationships. If it does not appear that there are more relationships than should be supported, verify that the microcode level installed supports the number of relationships desired.
04
Issue a Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy query command and remove any extra relationships. If it does not appear that there are more relationships than should be supported, verify that the microcode level installed supports the number of relationships desired.
05
Cascaded Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy multi-target relationships are not supported by the microcode. Issue a Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy query command and remove any extra relationships. If it does not appear that there are more relationships than should be supported, verify that the microcode level installed supports the number of relationships desired.
0A
Re-issue the Establish Peer-toPeer Remote Copy pair command with ACTION(MTFAILOVER).
0D
Issue a Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy query command and remove any extra secondary LSS associations. If it does not appear that there are more secondary associations than should be supported, verify that the microcode level installed supports the number of relationships desired.
0E
Issue a Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy query command to all of the secondaries associated with this primary. Remove any extraneous MTIR relationships. If it does not appear that there are more relationships than should be supported, verify that the microcode level installed supports the number of relationships desired.
