Buffers and Structure Data Elements

The size of your buffers does not have to correspond to the size of a structure data element. To create a buffer size equal to a structure element, specify the same value for BUFINCRNUM as was specified on the ELEMINCRNUM keyword of the IXLCONN macro for the structure. Establishing this one-to-one relationship is not required because IXLCACHE automatically “remaps” data that is arranged differently as it is transferred between buffer areas and structure elements.
