The hardware configuration definition (HCD) allows you to use the
HCD dialog to perform the following tasks for hardware configuration:
- Define operating system configuration
- Define the channel subsystem (CSS) configuration
- Define ESCON® director
(ESCD) and switch configurations
- Activate configuration data
- Maintain I/O definition files
- Query and print configuration data
- Migrate existing configuration data
