Modifying an Existing Data Set z/OS DFSMSdfp Utilities SC23-6864-00 |

IEBUPDTE can be used to modify an existing partitioned or sequential data set, or PDSE. Logical records can be replaced, deleted, renumbered, or added to the member or data set. A sequential data set residing on a tape volume can be used to create a new master (that is, a modified copy) of the data set. A sequential data set residing on a direct access device can be modified either by creating a new master or by modifying the data set directly on the volume on which it resides. A partitioned data set or PDSE can be modified either by creating a new master or by modifying the data set directly on the volume on which it resides. |
