Optical volume types

z/OS DFSMS OAM Planning, Installation, and Storage Administration Guide for Object Support

There are three types of optical volumes:
  • Scratch
  • Grouped
  • Backup

Requirement: Both volumes comprising an optical disk must belong to the same Object or Object Backup storage group.
