What is performance tuning? z/OS Network File System Guide and Reference SC23-6883-00 |
|
In general, performance tuning improves the price to performance ratio for a system or set of services by reallocating the available computing, network, or storage resources. The reallocation of these resources not only improves the performance for a particular load of work, but also accommodates an increase in the amount of work to be performed with minimal acquisition of additional resources. The information acquired from performance tuning can also be an important basis for long range capacity planning. The following might be some possible reasons to do performance
tuning.
