The original Encryption Key Manager (EKM) can be used with the TS1120 and the TS1130 Tape Drives. The TS1140, however, requires the Tivoli Key Lifecycle Manager (TKLM) Version 2 or the IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager. Host software including the IOS proxy has no direct knowledge of which key manager is being used. Specification of the key manager is handled using the EKM keyword on existing IOS commands regardless of which key manager is being used.
