ARCEDEXT Parameter List

Table 1 shows that register 1 contains the address of the ARCEDEXT parameter list.

Offset Length or Bit Pattern Description
0 (X'00') 4 The address of a 44-byte area containing the name of the aggregate backup file being processed.
4 (X'04') 4 The address of a fullword packed decimal field containing the expiration date for the aggregate backup file. On input to the exit, the field is primed with a value of X'0099365F'. The exit can alter this value to indicate a new retention period or date.

If the ABACKUP command is issued to back up an aggregate group defined in a pre-DFSMS/MVS 1.1.0 environment, the expiration date or retention period is passed in this field. The next field indicates whether an expiration date or retention period is being passed.

8 (X'08') 4 The address of a 4-byte field of flags. The first bit indicates whether the exit is being passed a retention period or an expiration date.

Indicates that a retention period is being passed to the exit.
0... ....
Indicates that an expiration date is being passed to the exit.
12 (X'0C') 4 The address of a fullword binary return code.
