You can use a fully qualified generic profile to protect data sets with the same name that reside on different volumes. Alternatively, you can use separate, discrete profiles to define
data sets having the same name. Support for data sets with duplicate
names allows authorized users to:
RACF differentiates between data sets having the same name by examining the volume serial number of each separately protected data set. |
