The form of the entry name the RACF® manager
uses for alias index entries consists of prefixing 3 bytes of non-EBCDIC
values to the beginning of the entry name. These 3 bytes define the
characteristics of the alias index entry. Specifically, the bytes
represent the template number, segment number, and field number associated
with the entry. The following table illustrates the hexadecimal values
in effect for a particular alias field:
