This exit allows you to:
- Examine and change an NJE data area before receiving the rest
of the NJE job from another node through TCP/IP NJE.
- Add, expand, locate, or remove an extension to the $JCT control
block where accounting information can be stored.
Before receiving an NJE job, your installation might need to
add, remove or change information to one or more of the NJE data areas
below. See
Network Job Entry (NJE) Formats and Protocols for more information about the various NJE data areas that can
be transmitted across a network.
- NJE job header
- NJE data set header
- NJE RCCS (Record Characteristics Change Section) header
- NJE job trailer
Your installation might want to:
- Remove any installation-defined sections your installation added
to the NJE job when exit 56 was processing the NJE job.
- Add or change information, such as accounting or security information,
needed by another node in the network.
- Extract information from the NJE data areas and transfer them
to user fields in JES2 defined control blocks or installation defined
control blocks.
