The two SNMP client applications provided with z/OS® Communications Server are:
- snmp command in the z/OS shell
- SNMP command from the NetView® environment
The SNMP command in the NetView environment
requires the use of the NetView product.
It supports SNMP version 1. The
snmp command in
the z/OS shell supports SNMP
versions 1, 2, and 3. Depending on your requirements, you might decide
to configure either or both of these clients, or to use an SNMP client
on another platform.
