Connection to server interrupted or timed out. operation

Explanation

The FTP server is no longer responding to the FTP client or the user has caused an interrupt (for example, Cntrl-c).

operation is the operation that was in progress at the time of the interruption. Possible values are:
Initial connection
During initial connection to a non-IPv6 server.
Initial IPv6 connection
During initial connection to an IPv6 server.
Waiting for data connection
Waiting for the server to establish the data connection.
Sending a command
Sending a command to the server on the control connection.
Sending ABORT command
Sending the ABORT command to the server.
Receiving data
Receiving data on the data connection.
Sending data
Sending data on the data connection.
Waiting for reply
Waiting for a reply from the server.
Sending command to SOCKS server
Sending a command to a SOCKS server.
Waiting for reply from SOCKS server
Waiting for a reply from a SOCKS server.
Establishing data connection through SOCKS server
While trying to establish a data connection through a SOCKS server.
Initial connection to SOCKS server
During initial connection to a SOCKS server.

System action

The current subcommand is ended.

Operator response

The server may not be responding because of traffic in the network. In this case a retry may be successful. The server may have crashed, in which case it will need to be restarted before attempting communications again. If the problem continues, contact the system programmer.
