GETCLIENTID call

GETCLIENTID call returns the identifier by which the calling application is known to the TCP/IP address space in the calling program. The CLIENT parameter is used in the GIVESOCKET and TAKESOCKET calls. See GIVESOCKET call for a discussion of the use of GIVESOCKET and TAKESOCKET calls.

Do not be confused by the terminology; when GETCLIENTID is called by a server, the identifier of the caller (not necessarily the client) is returned.

The following requirements apply to this call:

Interrupt status:	Enabled for interrupts

Control parameters:	All parameters must be addressable by the caller and in the primary address space
