DD statements

SMP/E for z/OS User's Guide
SA23-2277-01

DD statements define the data sets that can be used in SMP/E processing. For information about the data sets required for each command, see the topics on individual SMP/E commands in SMP/E for z/OS Commands.
Note:
  1. You can use DDDEF entries, rather than DD statements, to allocate many of the necessary data sets. For more information, see How to dynamically allocate data sets to be used during SMP/E processing.
  2. Start of changeTo use a target system's instance of SMP/E, you can specify the STEPLIB DD statement. If you specify the SYS1.MIGLIB and ASM.SASMMOD1 data sets of the target system on the STEPLIB DD statement, you can safely use the target system's instance of SMP/E and system utilities, such as the assembler and binder.End of change
