Open... Open an existing configuration (.HCM, .HCR) file and the corresponding IODF. y
Open Special... Open an existing configuration (.HCM, .HCR) file and a specified IODF. n
Save Save the current configuration (.HCM, .HCR) file with a timestamp that is synchronized with the IODF, and continue the session with the files open. y
Close Save the configuration (.HCM, .HCR) file and the corresponding IODF, and then close them. y
IODF Details... Display important IODF information. y
Copy Configuration Files… Copy the configuration (.HCM, .HCR) file to a new file and the corresponding IODF to a new data set. n
Build Production... Create a production IODF. n
Make Work... Create a work IODF on the host out of the currently open production IODF, while at the same time creating a work (*.HCM) file out of the currently open production (*.HCR) file on the PC. n
Set Access Mode A dialog lets you select one of the following access modes for the current configuration:
  • Single-user mode - Local configuration disables MCF sharing. This operation deletes the existing MCF from the host. Synchronization of physical updates on multiple local copies is now in the user's responsibility.
  • Master configuration file mode enables the configuration for MCF sharing. This choice creates a master configuration file on the host which allows several HCM users to work cooperatively and safely on a single configuration, sequentially sharing the configuration in connected mode.

IODFs... Open a dialog to manage IODFs. n
View IODF Reports... View HCD I/O configuration reports and save the output in a workstation file. n
View IODF Compare Reports... View HCD IODF Compare Reports and save the output in a workstation file. n
View IODF Compare CSS/OS Report... View HCD IODF CSS/OS Compare Reports (comparing devices within different CSSs/OSs in one IODF) and save the output in a workstation file. n
Compare HCM Files… Compare two HCM configuration files with respect to information contained in the associated IODF (logical view) and additionally with respect to physical information like cable connections, patchports, controllers, and so on. The output is presented in a window and you can save it in a file. y
Page Setup... Setup the page for printing purposes; setup the printer and its parameters. y
Print Diagram… Print the configuration diagram. y
Generate HCM Reports… Set parameters for the reports that you are going to create and/or print. Also, you can specify a report title, cover page notes, and a table of contents. You can determine the report contents and select the objects for reporting, and you can print an index. y
Print Cable Labels... Print cable labels to a text file or printer. y
Import Data... Import HCM data into a configuration. n
Export Data... Export configuration data to a text file in a directory. y
Exit (Alt+F4) Save and close the configuration (.HCM, .HCR) file and the corresponding IODF and exit HCM. y
