The copy wizards support two scenarios:
- Choose
the Repeat scenario to copy the source object to the target
object without moving physical connections. Only the logical connections
are copied to the target.
The purpose of this scenario is to create a new object and keep the source object operative for further use.
- Choose Upgrade scenario to create a new object with physical
connections moved. The wizard copies the source object to the target
object, moving the physical and copying the logical connections from
the source to the target. The source object remains with the logical
connections only.
The purpose of this scenario is to create a new object with full functionality and dismantle the source object. This scenario therefore helps you to consolidate your resources, for example, you may copy several SMP processors into different channel subsystems of an XMP processor.
Figure 1 illustrates how the wizards' page flow relates to the work and data flow when using the wizards with the different scenarios:
