On the configuration diagram, access from a partition to a CHPID is represented by a symbol at the intersection between the CHPID's column and the partition's row. The symbols represent the CHPID's mode (DED, REC, SHR, or SPAN) and whether the partition is in the CHPID's access or candidate list.
