If you use mixed-case group and user IDs

z/OS UNIX System Services Planning
GA32-0884-00

If you already use mixed-case group and user IDs on your system and the user (uucp) and group (uupcg) do not conflict with existing names, perform the steps for uppercase IDs in If you use uppercase group and user IDs.

It is not necessary to add the lowercase or mixed-case names to your alias table, mapping them to uppercase. Using the alias table degrades performance and increases systems management and complexity. When lowercase or mixed-case names are not found in the alias table, or there is no table active, they are folded to uppercase. For more information about the alias table, see USERIDALIASTABLE.
