ROOT z/OS UNIX System Services Planning GA32-0884-00 |
|
The ROOT statement defines and mounts the root file system. The root file system can be either HFS and zFS. The zFS file system is the preferred file system, and continued use of HFS is not encouraged. You can use multiple MKDIR keywords on the ROOT statement to define mount points in BPXPRMxx so that one or more directories is created in the mounted file system during z/OS UNIX initialization. Restriction: MKDIR is intended to run during synchronous
mounts on the system that is initializing. The directory might not
be created if any of these situations exist:
Tip: To ensure that mounts succeed, use SETOMVS SYNTAXCHECK
to check the MVS™ catalog for
the existence of the HFS or zFS file system names listed on each MOUNT
statement.
