z/OS UNIX System Services Planning
GA32-0884-00

The syslogd daemon, which is used to route messages, is shipped with z/OS® Communications Server, (TCP/IP Services). Other daemons provided by z/OS Communications Server are otelnetd and orexecd.

Rule: Before you can use the daemons, you have to permit each daemon to the BPX.DAEMON FACILITY class profile and then ensure that the library that contains the daemon is added to the program control profile.
