Explanation: PRIMARYVOLUME is a required
parameter you can specify to list selected information for primary
volumes.
- PRIMARYVOLUME
- specifies that you want a list of the volume entries for all
primary volumes.
- PRIMARYVOLUME(volser)
- specifies that you want a list for a particular primary volume.
For volser, substitute the serial number of the specific
volume you want listed. Both SMS and non-SMS volumes can be listed.
Defaults: If you specify PRIMARYVOLUME without volser, DFSMShsm lists all primary volumes it owns or manages
except when the optional ALLDUMPS parameter is specified.
Note: - The PRIMARYVOLUME parameter returns a list of copy pools that
the volume is a part of when BCDS or BOTH are specified.
- The PRIMARYVOLUME(volser) parameter returns
a list of copy pool dump generations that the volume is a part of
when ALLDUMPS and BCDS are both specified.
- When you specify PRIMARYVOLUME, DFSMShsm does not list information
about the data sets on the primary volume, and DFSMShsm does not give
you any information about the amount of space left on the volume.
To find out how much space is left on a primary volume, use the SPACE
parameter of the QUERY command.
