To convert an existing cascaded configuration to a Multi-Target Mirror configuration, you perform an establish pair request with the MTFAILOVER parameter. For example, in a cascaded configuration, H1->H2->H3, where H1 is the primary, you issue a CESTPAIR command with ACTION(MTFAILOVER) to the middle device, H2, as shown in Figure 1.

This results in a multi-target configuration (H2->H1 and H2-H3) in place of the previous cascaded failover state
