Global Copy, also known as PPRC-Extended Distance (PPRC-XD) , is a feature of the ESS allowing the primary and secondary storage sites to bridge great distances through channel extenders and telecommunication lines. In PPRC-XD, the primary updates the secondary incrementally, reducing impact to application writes and reducing bandwidth requirements. See Managing PPRC extended distance mode for more information.
