Purpose of this information: The purpose of this publication is to help you understand and use IBM® Advanced Copy Services functions. It describes three “dynamic” copy functions and several “point-in-time” copy functions. These functions provide backup and recovery of data should a disaster occur to your data center. The dynamic functions are peer-to-peer remote copy, extended remote copy, and coupled extended remote copy, and are known collectively as remote copy. FlashCopy®, SnapShot, and Concurrent Copy are the point-in-time copy functions.
