Installing the Meeting Integrator

IBM® Sametime® Meeting Integrator allows you to use the Calendar feature within Microsoft Office even though you do not have the Sametime Client installed.

Before you begin

Close Microsoft Outlook before you install the Sametime Meeting Integrator. If you do not close Microsoft Outlook, the Meeting Integrator installs, but does not become available until you restart Outlook.

About this task

If you deploySametime Communicate or the Sametime Complete offering, the Connect client includes the Meeting Integrator. If you deploy only ST Conference offering, the Connect client is not included so you must install the meeting integrator.

To install IBM Sametime Meeting Integrator, launch the installer (sametime-outlook-integrator-version.exe) and work through the screens from install to license.

If your Sametime Meeting Servers uses SSL for secure connections, make sure that the server name specified in the Sametime Meeting properties uses the proper syntax. That is, make sure to include the https: protocol in the server URL. For example use https://sametime.mycompany.com instead of using sametime.mycompany.com. Use these steps to modify the server name syntax:
  1. Depending on the version of Outlook you use, click Tools > Options or File > Options > Add-in Options, and then click the Add-in Options button.
  2. Click Meeting Room Servers.
  3. Click Add.
  4. In the Meeting room server field, enter the meeting room URL using the syntax https://sametime.mycompany.com.

Limitations

The Meeting Integrator does not support delegation of the Outlook calendar access.
