Installing Sametime Limited Use on AIX, Linux, or Windows

Install one or more IBM® Sametime® Limited Use servers without using a deployment plan, and then register the new servers with the Sametime System Console.

About this task

This installation procedure does not require you to run a guided activity and create a deployment plan on the Sametime System Console; however the Sametime System Console must be running when you register the new Sametime Community Server or cluster. Because there is no deployment plan, you do not run the installation process from the Sametime System Console.

Follow these steps to install Sametime Limited Use on a Domino® server and register it with the Sametime System Console.

1. Disable unused TCP global settings in Windows Server 2008 and later.
2. Install IBM Domino.
3. Install Sametime Limited Use using the setup command.
4. Register each Sametime Community Server with the Sametime System Console.
5. Register a Sametime Limited Use cluster with the Sametime System Console.
6. Complete the connections to the Domino or LDAP directory and prepare the server for users.
