Configuring the Gateway cluster for SIP INVITE Session Description Protocol

Configure a cluster of IBM® Sametime® Gateway Servers so that a SIP Proxy Server can communicate with another server that uses SDP (Session Description Protocol).

About this task

Define a custom property to map the cluster fully qualified DNS Name (FQDN) for SIP INVITE SDP.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the WebSphere® Integrated Services Console as a Sametime Gateway administrator.
  2. Click System administration > Cell > Custom Properties.
  3. Click New and enter information for the new custom property:
  4. In the Name field, enter com.ibm.sametime.gateway.sdp.ip.
  5. In the Value field, enter the external IP address of the Sametime Gateway cluster.

    Use the cluster's Load Balancer's IP address if one exists; otherwise, use the IP address of the cluster's WebSphere Application Server SIP Proxy Server. Enter a description if desired.

  6. Click OK, and then click Save in the "Messages" box at the beginning of the page.
  7. Perform a full synchronize with the nodes:
    1. In the Deployment Manager's Integrated Solutions Console, click System administration > Nodes.
    2. Click Full Resynchronize.
  8. Restart all Sametime Gateway nodes.
