Administering the Sametime Video Manager
Use the IBM® Sametime® System Console to modify administration settings on the Sametime Video Manager.
- Adding Sametime Video Manager Server sites
Configure IBM Sametime Video Manager sites as part of the Sametime Media Manager setup. A site typically corresponds to a local area network configured for a geographical location, for example, an office or manufacturing plant. A site contains one or more network subnets so a device's IP address identifies the site to which it belongs. A site's topology information logically describes the network and its interfaces to other networks. - Managing sites on the Video Manager Server
To manage a site on an IBM Sametime Video Manager Server, you can either edit a site's properties or delete a site. - Configuring a Sametime Video MCU on a Sametime Video Manager Server
Create a new IBM Sametime Video MCU on a Sametime Video Manager Server. - Managing a Video MCU
Manage an IBM Sametime Video MCU component by modifying the Video MCU properties or deleting the Video MCU. - Creating a Video MCU pool
An IBM Sametime Video MCU pool contains Video MCUs. - Managing a Video MCU pool
Manage an IBM Sametime Video MCU pool by modifying the pool properties or deleting the pool. - Setting Video MCU pool order
The Video MCU pool list displays logical groupings of IBM Sametime Video MCU servers that are defined on the IBM Sametime Video Manager Server. A pool can group Video MCU servers based on location, capability, or another factor. Use pool orders to preferentially route conferences to specific Video MCU servers by defining the order of preference in which pools are used. The pools to which a Video MCU server belongs, and the defined pool order, determine which Video MCU is used to host a conference that is managed by the associated Video Manager. - Managing Video MCU pool orders
Manage an IBM Sametime Video MCU pool order by modifying the pool order properties or deleting the pool order. - Adding a conference room owner and assigning a conference room to the owner on a Sametime Video Manager Server
Add a conference room owner, and then create a persistent conference room and assign it to the conference room owner. The conference room is stored on the IBM Sametime Video Manager Server where you create it. - Configuring default conference room settings
Configure default settings for use in IBM Sametime web conferences (in the meeting rooms). You can override the default settings when you provision specific conference room templates. - Defining an external SIP peer for routing calls from the Video Manager
Enable IBM Sametime clients to call users outside of Sametime by configuring the external SIP peer in the Sametime Video Manager.
