To send messages over SMTP to destinations outside of the
local Internet domain -- for example, to the Internet or another private
network -- you must enable external SMTP routing.
Before you begin
Make sure that you prepared your system to send mail to the
Internet and that you already have a Configuration Settings document
for the server(s) to be configured.
Procedure
- From the Domino® Administrator,
click the Configuration tab and then expand
the Messaging section.
- Choose Configurations.
- Select the Configuration Settings document and then click Edit
Configuration.
- On the Router/SMTPBasics tab,
for the field SMTP used when sending messages outside the
local Internet domain, choose one of these options, and
then save the document:
- Enabled - to use SMTP to route mail to the Internet
- Disabled - (default) to prevent the server from routing mail
outside the local Internet domain
Results
The change takes effect after the next Router configuration
update. To put the new setting into effect immediately, reload the
routing configuration.
