With Tivoli® Storage Manager Version 7.1.1, you can enable or disable compression of the archive log files that are written to the archive log directory. By compressing the archive log files, you reduce the amount of space that is required to store them.
To enable or disable compression of the archive log files, set the ARCHLOGCOMPRESS server option in the dsmserv.opt file.
