While the GENERICTAPE device type is valid, it is not recommended for a tape drive that is supported by the Tivoli Storage Manager server. If GENERICTAPE is not the intended device type, delete all paths to this drive and delete the drive itself. Then redefine the drive and a path without specifying GENERICTAPE=Yes.
