The subfilebackup option
specifies whether
to enable adaptive subfile backup.
Note: - To use the subfilebackup option,
the server must
have subfile yes or subfile client set.
Ask your Tivoli® Storage Manager administrator
to set the correct values.
- You can use open file support
with subfile backup operations.
- The subfilebackup option
does not work correctly
for migrated files. If you use a combination of subfilebackup
yes and subfilebackup no for migrated files,
your data might be corrupted on the server.
- Adaptive subfile
backup can be used with selective backups, incremental
backups, and on file-level backups of VMware virtual machines (Backup
VM commands where VMBACKUPTYPE=FILE is specified).
- Adaptive subfile backup processing occurs only when you back up
files; it is not used for archive operations.
- Restoring files
that were backed up with adaptive subfile backup
is accomplished by using the dsmc restore.
Supported Clients
This option is valid
for all Windows clients.
The server can also define this option. The Tivoli Storage Manager client
