Choosing an EP adapter resource

You choose an EP adapter resource for an event binding or an EP adapter set in a CICS® bundle project.

1. Choose an EP adapter resource.
   You can either open the Choose an EP Adapter dialog in the Adapter tab of the event binding editor, or the edit page of the EP adapter set configuration editor.

   For an event binding, perform the following steps:

   1. Optional: If you do not already have a project with an event binding, create a CICS bundle project and a new event binding file in the CICS Explorer®. For detailed instructions, see Creating an event binding file.
   2. Double-click the event binding file in the Project Explorer view.
   3. Click the Adapter tab in the CICS event binding editor and select Use a predefined EPADAPTER resource.
   4. Click Choose.

   For an EP adapter set, perform the following steps:

   1. Optional: If you do not already have a project with an EP adapter set, create a CICS bundle project and a new EP adapter set file in the CICS Explorer. For detailed instructions, see Creating an EP adapter set file.
   2. Double-click the EP adapter set file in the Project Explorer view.
   3. Click the Event Processing Adapter Set tab in the EP adapter set configuration editor.
   4. Click Add in the EP Adapters section.
2. Choose an EP adapter.
   

   You can use any of the following options to specify an EPADAPTER name:

   • Type the adapter name in the Name field.
   • Select an EP adapter from a list found in the workspace. When Use an EPADAPTER found in the workspace is selected embedded adapters are not included in the adapter list.
   • Select an EP adapter from a list found in a connected CICS region or CICSplex. If you are not connected to CICS at the time, you can connect by clicking Connection.
