What's new in the CICS IA V5.1.1 plug-in

Enhancements to the CICS® IA V5.1.1 plug-in.

New Function Description
New properties for the command flow collector
The following properties are now available to view or change for the command flow collector, which you access from the IA Operations view:
  • Transaction Exclude List: the name of the list of transaction name prefixes to exclude. Data is not collected for any transaction with a name that begins with a prefix in this list.
  • Program Exclude List: the name of the list of program name prefixes to exclude. Data is not collected for any program with a name that begins with a prefix in this list.
New Outline view

A new Outline view is provided to display an outline of the complete contents of the Resource Visualization view or the Resource Connections view, with reduced size resource elements. It provides an overall view of resources or connections, and an alternative method to navigate around the corresponding full size view.

Enhancements to existing functionality Description
Command flow view

The Command Flow view now includes a filter to specify which resources or commands are displayed in the view.

You can now use Find/Replace from the workbench menu to search the information in the command flow table.

The following new columns are available to add to the command flow table:
  • TCB CPU time after command. The value is in milliseconds rounded up to seven decimal places.
  • TCB CPU time before command. The value is in milliseconds rounded up to seven decimal places.
Command flow editor
You can now use the command flow editor, which you access from the IA Operations view, to view or edit the following command flow collector options:
  • Transaction Exclude List: the name of the list of transaction name prefixes to exclude. Data is not collected for any transaction with a name that begins with a prefix in this list.
  • Program Exclude List: the name of the list of program name prefixes to exclude. Data is not collected for any program with a name that begins with a prefix in this list.
Query editor
The following new columns are available for a Command flow query in the Query editor, in the Show panel and Filter results panel:
  • TCB CPU time after command. The value is in milliseconds rounded up to seven decimal places.
  • TCB CPU time before command. The value is in milliseconds rounded up to seven decimal places.
Resource Connections view

The Resource Connections view is now shown in the editor area of the CICS IA perspective.

Connections between resources are now displayed from left to right, or from top to bottom, depending on the currently selected orientation.

Resource Visualization view

The Resource Visualization view is now shown in the editor area of the CICS IA perspective.

A new toolbar button, Show connections icon Show connections icon is provided to open the Resource Connections view for the currently selected program or transaction.

A new menu option, Show connections, is provided to open the Resource Connections view when you right-click a program or transaction.
