Planning and preparing for FileNet P8

Before you install FileNet® P8, you must prepare your environment by deciding how you want to configure your system architecture, installing any prerequisite software, configuring security, and configuring other components. Use the Installation and Upgrade worksheet while you plan.

The Installation and Upgrade worksheet is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that describes the properties and parameters required to complete installation, upgrade, and configuration. Use it to record the values that you assign to these properties and parameters.

You can also access variations of this documentation in PDF format that are customized to specific configurations. These customized PDFs are significantly shorter and more streamlined than the full document. However, the customized PDF documentation might not describe every possible installation scenario.
