Extracting a connection point half map

After a source or a destination environment is defined, you can extract its connection point data to create a connection point half map.

To extract connection point names to the connection point half map:

1. In the FileNet® Deployment Manager tree view pane, expand the Environments node and double-click an environment.
2. On the overview tab, click the Retrieve Data radio button for Connection Point Data.

   Option	Description
   Deploy Dataset	Select this data source when you want to map connection point data for deployment of objects to the destination environment. This data source option requires the fully qualified path to a deployment data set. For instructions on how to export to a data set from the Content Platform Engine, see Exporting assets to a deployment data set. In the Select Deploy Dataset File field, enter the fully qualified path of the deployment data set from which the data is extracted. If you attempt to extract connections points from a deployment data set, it is possible that none is found. The connection point half map is not altered and the connection point half map might remain empty. You can proceed with other operations, provided that the connection point half map is not required for the subsequent operation to complete successfully.
   From Content Platform Engine	Select this data source to fetch all connection points from the Content Platform Engine that the environment is connected to. You can use this option if you expect that the objects you are exporting reference most of the connection points in the domain or the list of connection points is small.

3. Select the mode to use when the half map file is built.

   Option	Description
   Merge retrieved data with the existing half map	Adds any new data to the half map. If an item with the same name is retrieved from the environment, existing data is updated with any changes. This option does not delete any data from the half map.
   Overwrite existing half map with retrieved data	Replaces the contents of the half map with the new data.

4. Click OK.
