Starting FileNet Deployment Manager
You can start the FileNet® Deployment Manager graphical user interface from the desktop shortcut, the Start menu, or from the command-line interface.
Restrictions:
- FileNet Deployment Manager creates
a log file in the directory in which the application is installed.
To avoid errors, ensure that you have write access to this directory
before you use FileNet Deployment Manager.
By default, FileNet Deployment Manager is installed in the following directory: C:\Program Files\IBM\FileNet\ContentEngine\tools\deploy.
- FileNet Deployment Manager does not support deployment trees that were created by using versions that are older than version 4.5.1.
- FileNet Deployment Manager runs with FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) 140-ready mode enabled the first time that you start it. When you run in this mode, the application does not save passwords to disk; it retains obfuscated passwords in memory. You can disable this mode to allow passwords to be saved to disk in encrypted format. For more information, see Set preferences.
- You cannot use FileNet Deployment Manager to import or export metadata between different versions of Content Platform Engine.
