After a source or a destination environment is defined,
or after a deployment data set is created, you can extract its object
store data to create an object store half map.
To extract object store names and IDs to the object store
half map:
- In the FileNet® Deployment Manager tree
view pane, expand the Environments node and
double-click an environment.
- On the overview tab, click the Retrieve Data radio
button for Object Store Data. Select one of
the options for where to fetch the list of object stores used to populate
the half map.
Option |
Description |
Deploy Dataset |
Select this data source when you want to map object store
data for deployment of objects to the destination environment. This
data source option requires the fully qualified path to a deployment
data set. For instructions on how to export to a data set from the Content Platform Engine, see Exporting assets to a deployment data set. In the Select
Deploy Dataset File field, enter the fully qualified path
of the deployment data set from which the data is extracted. If you
attempt to extract object stores from the export of a workflow system
configuration data, and there are no object stores, the object store
half map is not altered. |
From Content Platform Engine |
Select this data source to fetch all object stores from the Content Platform Engine that the environment
is connected to. You can use this option if you expect that the objects
you are exporting reference most of the object stores in the domain
or the list of object stores is small. |
- Optional: If you are updating an existing object
store half map, in the Retrieve Data for Object Store Half
Map window, under Options, select
from the following options:
- Retrieve storage policies for each object store
- Retrieve storage areas for each object store
- Select the mode to use when the object store half map file
is built.
Option |
Description |
Merge retrieved data with the existing half map |
Adds any new object store data to the object store half map.
If an item with the same ID is retrieved from the environment, existing
data is updated with any changes. This option does not delete any
data from the object store half map. |
Overwrite existing half map with retrieved data |
Replaces the contents of the object store half map with the
new data. |
- Click OK.
FileNet Deployment Manager updates
the object store half map with the name, symbolic name, and identifier
of each object store in the environment. Depending on the options
you selected, FileNet Deployment Manager updates
the object store storage areas.
