IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Creating or editing an environment definition

Before you can extract global configuration data, object store data, or workflow system data, you must first define a source and a destination environment. You can also edit an existing environment definition.

  1. To create a source or destination environment definition:
    1. From the File menu, select New, then select Environment.
    2. In the New Environment dialog box, enter a name for the environment, then click Finish. FileNet® Deployment Manager adds the new environment to the deployment tree. The new environment is immediately visible under the Environments node of the FileNet Deployment Manager Tree View pane.
    3. Define the connection to an environment.
  2. To edit an existing source or destination environment definition:
    1. In the FileNet Deployment Manager Tree View pane, expand the Environments node, then double-click the environment definition that you want to modify.
    2. To edit the connection settings of the environment definition, see Define the connection to an environment.
    3. After you finish making your changes to the environment definition, select Save from the File menu.
