Before you can extract global configuration data, object store data, or workflow system
data, you must first define a source and a destination environment. You can also edit an existing
environment definition.
- To create a source or destination environment definition:
- From the File menu, select New,
then select Environment.
- In the New Environment dialog box, enter a name for
the environment, then click Finish. FileNet® Deployment Manager adds the new environment
to the deployment tree. The new environment is immediately visible
under the Environments node of the FileNet Deployment Manager Tree View pane.
- Define
the connection to an environment.
- To edit an existing source or destination environment definition:
- In the FileNet Deployment Manager Tree
View pane, expand the Environments node, then double-click the environment
definition that you want to modify.
- To edit the connection settings of the environment definition,
see Define the
connection to an environment.
- After you finish making your changes to the environment
definition, select Save from the File menu.
