IBM Content Search Services configuration file backup
If a IBM® Content Search Services server fails, you must restore the software, either by reinstalling the same version of the software from the installation image or by restoring the server files from a complete server backup. If you reinstall the software, you can restore IBM Content Search Services functionality to the state before the failure by restoring its configuration files.
Remember: If you restore the IBM Content Search Services software onto
a computer that has a different file structure than the file structure of the original computer, you
might need to modify the configuration.xml file after IBM Content Search Services is reinstalled. Use the configuration tool to verify that all
folder paths that are mentioned in the configuration file are accurate and to make the necessary
changes. For example, verify that the values of the following parameters are correct:
- configPath
- defaultDataDirectory
- installPath
- keyStoreName
- logFolder
- pluginsPath
- stellentPath
- tempDirectory
