Operating system migration

If you have the compiler installed on AIX® 6.1, you might want to migrate the operating system to AIX 7.1.

The compiler filesets are not OS specific. If XL C/C++ V13.1.2 is installed on AIX 6.1, you do not need to migrate the compiler filesets when the operating system is migrated to AIX 7.1. If an OS-specific fileset is required in the future for a higher level of AIX, it will be identified in a Technote tied to the PTF that adds support for that version of AIX.
