Specifying credentials in an IBM Business Monitor secured environment

If you have enabled security for IBM® Business Monitor, or you have changed the password for an administrative user, you must also update the credentials that IBM Business Monitor uses to access WebSphere® Application Server services.

About this task

All aliases with the value unset for the User ID must be updated with an administrative user ID and password. The new password must also be applied to all authentication aliases that use the administrative user ID. Follow the steps to update the credentials for the authentication aliases.

Procedure

  1. From the WebSphere Application Server administrative console, click Security > Global security.
  2. Under Authentication, click Java Authentication and Authorization Service > J2C authentication data.
  3. From the list, select an alias that requires updating. For example, the MonitorBusAuth authentication alias secures the monitor bus. When installing a monitor model, all JMS resources are configured with this authentication alias. (The MonitorQueueConnectionFactoryAuth alias is no longer used.)
  4. Enter the user ID (if needed) and password, and click OK.
  5. Save the changes to the master configuration.
