Key business process management concepts
Use this section as a starting point to investigate the technologies used in and by IBM® Business Process Manager.
- Process applications
A process application is a container for process models and their supporting implementations; it is stored in the repository. After the artifacts have been authored or otherwise created, they are assembled into a process application. - The Process Center repository
The Process Center includes a repository for all processes, services, and other assets created in the IBM Business Process Manager authoring environments, Process Designer and Integration Designer. - BPMN 2.0
IBM Business Process Manager business process definitions support the Common Executable subclass of the BPMN 2.0 Process Modeling conformance class, which deals with models that you can run. - BPEL processes and human tasks
BPEL processes and human tasks drive process and human workflows. A business process is a set of business-related activities that are invoked to achieve a business goal. - Coaches
Coaches are the web-based user interfaces that provide process-related data to Process Portal users and collect input from those users. Coaches are implemented in human services, which manage the flow from one coach to another.
