Migrating three clusters from WebSphere Process Server V7.0.x to IBM Business Process Manager Advanced V8.5.6

The following diagram shows how three clusters in WebSphere® Process Server V7.0.x might map to a target IBM® Business Process Manager Advanced V8.5.6 deployment environment after migration. The diagram also depicts the consolidation of multiple messaging engines into a single messaging engine in V8.5.6.

IBM Business Process Manager V8.5.6 simplifies the configuration by using a single bus. Most of the support cluster has been merged into the application cluster.

The V7.0.x databases are reused in the target V8.5.6 environment. For V8.5.6, you must add two new databases for Process Server and Performance Data Warehouse.

The common database is split into two pieces. One is cell-scoped (used for the entire cell). The other, which includes event sequencing and the failed event manager, is deployment-environment-scoped, and must be configured for each deployment environment. The multiple messaging engines are consolidated into a single messaging engine and CEI is deprecated in V8.5.6. Therefore, in the deployment-environment-scoped database, the multiple messaging engine schemas are replaced with a single schema, and CEI tables are not configured.
