Customizing the IBM Business Process Manager dashboards

You can customize the dashboards that IBM® Business Process Manager provides or create your own custom dashboards.

About this task

The Process Portal BPM system application (TWP) contains content to support the out-of-the box Process Portal. It contains exposed dashboards that show up within the Process Portal web application.

IBM Business Process Manager provides the following dashboards:

Team Performance
Process Performance

In addition to these dashboards, IBM Business Process Manager also has a Work page. However, in addition to customizing and rebranding Process Portal itself, you can customize the IBM Business Process Manager dashboards by performing the following actions:

Procedure

Create custom dashboards. For information, see Creating a custom dashboard and Example: Creating a dashboard.
Remove the Work page that IBM Business Process Manager provides. Remove this page only if users do not complete their tasks by using the IBM Business Process Manager Work page. To remove the Work page, open the BPM_WORK human service in the Process Portal app and set its Exposed As field to Not Exposed. For information about changing the exposure of a human service, see Exposing heritage human services.
To hide dashboards from Process Portal users, change the Exposed As field to Not Exposed. You might want to hide dashboards if all Process Portal users have Internet Explorer 8, which is not supported for the dashboards. Or, you might want to remove the users with Internet Explorer 8 from the Exposed To list.
Customize the Process Performance and Team Performance dashboards that IBM Business Process Manager provides. For information, see Customizing the Process Performance and Team Performance dashboards.
Set the default start page for a user or user group. For information, see Resetting the Process Portal start page for a user. However, for the value, specify the page that you want as the default.
Set the tab order for a user or user group. For information, see Setting the Process Portal tab order for a user group.
Switch to a different dashboard by using URL addressability. The format of the URL depends on the type of human service that is used for the dashboard.
- For heritage human services, the URL has the following format: /ProcessPortal/dashboards/APP/Service/Snapshot?tw.local.param1=val1
- For client-side human services, the URL has the following format: /ProcessPortal/executecf?modelID=<modelId>&snapshotID=<snapshotID>
